Paying the "A360 Collaboration for Revit" subscription might be a pretty expensive option for small-scale Revit workgroups, especially if worksharing is not done as a daily basis. I found this fabulous article at THE REVIT KID - MY $300 REVIT SERVER. I haven't tested his method but it's worth sharing.
You should also take a look at my earlier 2014 post REVIT WORKSHARING IN A HOME GROUP NETWORK which is another solution to work when participants share the same office.
